Spanish/Portuguese Bid Edges Ahead In World Cup Race

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

If you’re hoping 2018 will bring a summer of international Football to your backyard, you may be better off moving, if rumours circulating in Zurich, headquarters of Fifa, are to believed.

It’ll be Portuguese mortgages for the Football starved, if correspondence between Spanish representative Angel Villar Llona and Quatar rep Mohamaed Bin Hammam is genuine and to be believed. The note, with the words ‘vamos a ganar’ (we are going to win), is being interpreted as proof of the two countries’ collusion over the two World Cup slots in 2018 and 2022: Qatar is said to be helping Spain/Portugal to winning the bid for 2018 in return for a leg up in their 2022 bid. Fifa however, is turning a blind eye on this blatant conspiracy between the nations.

England’s bid is now viewed as being a distant outsider, with the Portuguese / Spanish bid and a Russian bid gaining rapid popularity. The English bid has suffered in the wake of newspaper investigations into Fifa conduct. Reporters posed as a party interested in bring the World Cup to the United States, and managed to catch the Nigerian and Tahitian members pledging votes in return for bribes.

David Cameron has pledged to help repair English fortunes, and has been lobbying his fellow world leaders at the G20 world summit, Seoul. He will later travel to Zurich to speak directly with Fifa leaders before the December 2nd vote that will decide hosting for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Having made significant investment already in facilities for the 2012 Olympics, the World Cup is seen as a particularly appealing prospect for the United Kingdom.

The Portuguese/Spanish bid on the other hand would see a new host-nation (The Spanish hosted in 1982) giving a freshness to their bid. With Spain as the current World Champions, their chances are looking especially good. With the World Cup looking increasingly likely for Southern Europe, it’s no surprise that many English people are sighing and looking into the strange world of Portuguese property finance.

Is Soccer Coming Home

The English football team have managed to succeed in the quarter finals of the Fifa World Cup, will this lastly be the 12 months that football comes back residence for the first time since 1966? Regardless of not playing their finest soccer, England are still within the tournament and should have an awesome chance of lifting the trophy.

Some may say that I’m biased as I am from England myself and am an avid England supporter, nevertheless I actually really feel that 2006 could be the yr for our boys out there in Germany. This will likely after all be all blown away on Saturday when the crew face Portugal and massive Phil Scolari. Scolari has been the supervisor of the last groups who have knocked England out of the last major tournaments and therefore will pose an enormous menace to my team. He was the manager of the Brazil group that beat England in the 2002 World Cup and he was and still is the supervisor of the Portugal workforce that beat England in the 2004 European Championship. I am hoping that will probably be third time fortunate for the English this year.

To say that England are but to peak is a little bit of an understatement as they have in reality been properly beneath par. This might nevertheless be quite a great thing, what number of occasions have Germany scraped via to the final levels of the match with out thrilling the crowds?

With Wayne Rooney changing into stronger and fitter this must be the most effective alternative that England has had for quite some time. There are various leaders and potential captains within the English team. Gamers like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard would all make worthy captains when David Beckham decides to give up this role. In addition to potential captains, these players are additionally what I name winners and when push comes to shove hopefully will ship the goods.

Argentina, Brazil and Germany could prove to be the largest risks to England. After a slow start Ronaldo seems to have discovered his scoring boots once more and the Brazil team has some great gamers all around the park. I’ve to say that I am getting quite bored of them winning nevertheless, absolutely its the flip of England this time around.

Germany have performed some great football on their dwelling turf and seem to increase a head of steam. They could prove quite troublesome to cease and always appear to do nicely within the World Cup.

Many individuals would argue that Argentina have most likely performed the best football up to now and that they are worthy favourites. I would have to agree with this and just hope that they’ve peaked too soon.

It certainly can be a fantastic summer in England if our crew can deliver football home to where it belongs this year. Good luck England.

Replacing The Old Guard : Who Can Italy Look To For Euro 2012 And World Cup 2014?

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Italy’s squad is older than most, and Marcelo Lippi has not been spared criticism for the age of the team.  The Italian team is undoubtedly old, with 30-year old Vincenzo Iaquinta, 31 year-old Andrea Pirlo, 32 year olds Gianluigi Buffon, Gennaro Guttuso, and Antonio Di Natale, 33 year-olds Mauro Camoranesi and Gianluca Zambrotta, and 36-year old Fabio Cannavaro all likely to have to be replaced by Lippi or Azzuri’s next manager by the Brazilian World Cup in 2014.

Lorenzo De Silvestri    Defender     (Fiorentina)    Aged 22
The former Lazio full back cuts an imposing figure for a full back at just over six feet tall.    When he moved to Fiorentina in 2009, De Silvestri came into his own in the form that served him in representing Italy from U16 to U21. With such a solid basis in the skills necessary to become a good fullback, De Silvestri might end up replacing Gianluca Zambrotta for the national team.

Davide Santon        Defender    (Inter)        Aged 19
Able to play down either flank, Santon is a hugely talented young defender who made 28 appearances for Inter this season as well as five appearances already for the Azzuri. The tireless Santon can run the flanks for the entire ninety minutes and has even been compared to Paolo Maldini by coach Marcelo Lippi. We can expect to see the immensely talented Santon in the Italy’s next few squads for major finals events.

Mario Balotelli        (Striker)    (Inter)        Aged 19
Mario Batelli, though prone to fights and poor sportsmanship, may be one of the best attackers or wingers wearing the Italy soccer apparel in upcoming games.  Batelli’s run-ins with both fans and management only serve to distract from his excellent record: the player scored twenty goals in 59 games and notched 6 and 16 for the U21 Italian set. Batelli is sure to see the Euro 2012 qualifiers, when the Italian team will be looking for a new strike force.

Federico Macheda    (Striker)    (Man Utd)    Aged 18
A fiercely underrated player that has yet to regularly make the first team at Old Trafford, Macheda is set to have a great next season and catch they eye of Azzuri management. Macheda’s strength as a striker coupled with his intelligence gives him a boost in scoring goals. Particularly good with his back to goal, he has already been capped at U21 level for Italy and if he can start to make a bigger impact in the United first team, full honours should soon follow.

Antonio Candreva    (Midfielder)    Udinese    Aged 23
Candreva just may be the only replacement for Italy’s great Andrea Pirlo. The Udinese midfielder, who is being touted as making his loan move during last season to Juventus more permanent, is versatile enough to play anywhere in midfield but seems to excel in the holding, creative role so favoured by Pirlo.

Spain vs Germany 2010

During last nights semi final game featuring the current european champions Spain vs Germany who have just got better throughout the tournament, I decided to watch this imprtant game with my spanish relative who was not only excited about the game but who clearly thought he was actually there in the South Africa amongst the crowd.

At the half time break the score was still an agonising 0-0 and during the tv adverts there was a constant push for Internet Marketing of the world cup where so much information is accessible online these days, for example if you had missed any of the previous games you were able to watch them on the internet, being able to view all the live match statistics as well as join an online forum to discuss your own thoughts and post your own comments.

As thousands of people flock to South Africa for the football World Cup we see a huge rise in economy growth and possible boost in future tourism.

So many online business have made a success throughout the time of the World Cup in South Africa, not only through travel and football merchandise but common accessories such as those noisy trumpets they call a vuvuzela which i saw for sale in my village shop, i didnt buy one as i intend on keeping my friends!

The football stadiums in South Africa were very impressive, especially the one in Durban which was were Spain were to get a suprised 1-0 defeat to Switzerland match. A friend of mine was lucky enough to see that match as he was visiting family down there.

My friend predicts that the Netherlands are in for winning the world cup, because he has holland in the sweepstake at the Ecommerce website design business he works at.

Some of the football sites also have some fantastic web design too!
